I have been on an amazing journey these last five months and one thing that I have been really focusing on is improving my art. For years art has been a way to step out of my mind and focus on one thing, my creation, my art. In a way art has been very therapeutic for me. From grade school through high school I have always taken an art class as an elective and learned how to paint, screen print, throw clay, sculpt, the list goes on and on. After high school I took a break from all that and went into photography. Now after a 28 year break I am back in class and refreshing all of my skills.
Schmee II is now being exhibited at the Cascade Gallery here in Portland Oregon and I have to say that I am so excited to have my artwork shown in a gallery for the first time in my life!
This piece took over 10 hours to create using colored pencils. The style is grid, pixel using the method Chuck Close is so famous for.
